Stem Cell Transplant Journal Day 21 – 21 December 2015 (Cancer and Me 62)

I know I say it a lot, but there really isn’t a lot to say today. Neutrophil count is 3.8 (up a little again). I spoke with my brother on the phone this morning, watched TV all day, didn’t do my exercises, and ate a little bit of food. Still not time to go home, as I have to finish the seven-day course of antibiotics then see how I am after that.

Stupid I know, but I got my hopes up that the doctor might come and give me a target date to go home. But then he took until 5:45pm to get to me, and left me with no more idea than before. So I was feeling a bit deflated, and frankly sick of the sight of these four walls.

But Heidi surprised me by visiting for a couple of hours this evening when I thought she wouldn’t be able to. And we sat chatting about how lovely people have been, the help that we’ve received and how blessed we feel. Heidi says she feels blown away by the love, prayers and support for us.

And reminding each other of those things really cheered me up and stopped me going to bed feeling sorry for myself.
