“…so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.” (Hebrews 9:28)
Jesus will come again, and this world’s history will end. Time will run out.
There won’t be a star of David leading wise men to him, there won’t be angels telling shepherds to go and find him lying in a manger. His return will be glorious and the whole world will see it. And that will be it. Judgment Day.
“But know this, that if the master of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have left his house to be broken into. You also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” (Luke 12:39-40)
We must be ready. That doesn’t mean living our lives staring into the sky, wondering if it’s today. Being ready means living a life of faith and doing things that Jesus would be pleased with. The point is, if Jesus were to return today, would he find us being faithful, loving each other, trusting God in everything?
