“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” (Romans 8:18)
There are great things waiting in heaven for those who trust in Jesus. Unimaginably great things.
We will have new bodies, ones that don’t wear out, get sick or get old. We will never face death ever again.
We will be free of temptation, free of guilt, free of fear.
We will be filled with happiness, and all our tears will be wiped away. We will never be hurt again, physically or emotionally. We will have perfect joy in a perfect world.
We will be with God face to face. We will be able to walk and talk with Jesus. He’s with us now through the Holy Spirit, though we can’t see him.
Everything good will be available to us, and everything in the world will be perfect. All bad things, all decay, conflict, wastage, damage, all the things that weigh us down in this life, will be no more.
So whatever we suffer in this present time – the pain of family members who are seriously ill, being seriously ill, losing loved ones, being dumped by someone you love, being cheated on, being persecuted and beaten up, having things stolen from us, having people treat us badly, having bad accidents – whatever those things are, and however bad they are; when you compare them to the eternal glory that we have to look forward to, they are not worth comparing.
